Cabinet's letter dated (29-7-1977) No. 87 Notification No. issued by WAFA 77 (4) According to (10/77), Myanma Petroleum Corporation was also transferred to the Ministry of Industry No. (2) from (1-8-1977), so it operated through the following (3) organizations:
(a) Myanmar Petroleum Corporation
(b) Petrochemical and Natural Gas Corporation
(c) Petroleum Product Distribution Corporation
Union Socialist Republic of Myanmar State Council Notification No. dated April 12, 1985; (41/85) and the government's 1985 According to Notification No. (5/85) dated April 12, the Ministry of Energy was established with the following organizations:
(a) Office of the Minister (new formation)
(b) Department of Energy Planning (new establishment)
(c) Myanmar Petroleum Corporation
(d) Petrochemical and Natural Gas Corporation
(e) Petroleum Product Distribution Corporation
(f) Electricity Corporation
1989 Union of Myanmar Government's Order Notice No. dated March 31 According to (2/89), the names of the state-owned economic organizations were set to be changed, and the names of the 4 corporations under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy were amended and changed as follows:
(a) Office of the Minister
(b) Department of Energy Planning
(c) Myanmar oil and natural gas industry
(d) Myanmar Petrochemical Industry
(e) Myanmar petroleum product trading business
(f) Myanmar Electricity Industry
As Myanmar Electricity Industry, the Union of Myanmar Government's letter dated (16-11-97) No. 40/97 Afra 97(3) was established as the Ministry of Electric Power. The Ministry of Energy was prepared and constituted with the following institutions:
(a) Office of the Minister
(b) Department of Energy Planning
(c) Myanmar oil and natural gas industry
(d) Myanmar Petrochemical Industry
(e) Myanmar petroleum product trading business
2016 On April (1st), the Ministry of Electric Power and the Ministry of Energy jointly formed the Ministry of Electricity and Energy (4) Departments. It was organized with (5) businesses and (2) corporations.
On May 2, 2022, the Ministry of Electricity and Energy was reorganized as the Ministry of Electric Power and the Ministry of Energy according to Decree No. (33/2022) of the State Administration Council.
